01 / scope

What I built

  • APIs for the customer apps and a merchant platform where businesses complete KYC, list services and invite staff with admin or mechanic roles
  • Five request workflows (vehicle rental, equipment rental, repair, insurance, license renewal) with status histories, ratings and per-business settings
  • Vehicle and equipment inventory on a brand, model, year and feature catalog bulk-imported from CSV, with a nightly job that updates availability
  • Paystack payments with signature-verified webhooks, and Firebase Cloud Messaging push notifications to customers' devices
  • Business analytics across requests, inventory, staff and payments, with file storage on DigitalOcean Spaces

Problems worth solving

One pattern for five kinds of request

Vehicle rentals, equipment rentals, repairs, insurance and license renewals each need their own fields, but they share a lifecycle. Every request type follows the same status-history and rating pattern, so new services are quick to add and behave consistently.

A catalog businesses don't have to type in

Vehicle and equipment brands, models, years and features are bulk-imported from CSV, so merchants pick from a clean catalog instead of free text. A nightly job keeps inventory availability up to date.

Payments and notifications people can trust

Paystack webhooks are verified against their signature before anything changes, and customers get push notifications on every device they've signed in on through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
